Monarchs

I was inspired by a day at school to write this. we were taking pictures of the school’s grass, butterflies, trees, and some of the plants. It was really fun because we got to go all around the school to do this!

( we took pictures with our iPads ).

Have you ever thought about how a monarch eats? Monarchs eat nectar with its proboscis. A proboscis is a tongue that sucks nectar from a flower. That is what they eat with. They drink nectar from some different types of flowers. did you know that they have to travel from Canada to Mexico? It takes them to about 8 months to travel back, and 4 to 6 weeks to travel to Mexico. They have a long journey ahead of them. But they will have some problems on the way, like people cutting down trees that are their homes. Or maybe building over the butterfly’s home. It is so sad. A few weeks later… It will be summer and it was the morning in summer, a butterfly stretched its wings and shoots off in the sunlight for its journey. those magical creatures are on their way to Mexico and will soon be back.
